What happens when DNA is damaged? What does our body need to repair the damage and avoid its consequences?

Found this great video from TED-Ed in YouTube, What happens when your DNA is damaged? - Monica Menesini (Click to watch the video).

It discusses the following:
  1. What happens when DNA damage happens
  2. What happens during cell replication
  3. What happens during the repair process
It gives us an understanding on the importance of why keeping our DNA healthy is important.

The challenge is that as we grow older our body's capability to repair our DNA diminishes as we are exposed to various factors - aging, stress, lack of rest, pollution, poor diet, radiation and so much more.

One way we can help our body's own capability to repair itself is by providing it with the necessary building blocks such as complex dietary nucleotides  that food supplements focused on nucleotides can provide.
